Perpetual Crossfit Beginner

I like to workout and in general go to the gym, but it has traditionally been for mental health reasons. To this end, I don’t do stuff I don’t like and I make sure to take advantage of spa like features. I love the pool and the sauna. My wife likes the tanning bed.

But I do like to lift heavy and workout pretty hard on the things that I like and I feel like maybe if I do some tracking of it here, and if I am honest, it might help me get more out of it. What I generally strive for is to do the version of the crossfit workout of the day that fits my skill level, frequently the beginner level.

Today that happens to be:

Beginner Option:
3 rounds for time of:
5 hang power cleans
10 weighted lunges

♀55 lb ♂ 75 lb
Then,
Bear crawl as far as possible in 2 minutes.

I have to admit I am not looking forward to hang power cleans or bear crawling. I find the complex motions, especially with the shrug, to be challenging for form. The last workout I completed felt pretty good:

Beginner Option:
3 rounds for time of:
15 deadlifts
Bike 500 meters

135lb

Not bad for a guy who weighs 300lbs. I have been getting that down, and my blood pressure as well. Self care is productive is what I keep telling myself.
